Make the iconic brand more visible and less exchangeable. The café that is not only loved for its quality food and drinks but also its warm and friendly character should have a logo and branding showing this.

Brief
The client was looking for help with redesigning the Authors Book Launch and Expo website but also wanted to focus more on user-friendliness to improve the website's useability.

Challenge
Create a more elegant and luxurious look & feel while using the existing assets. The event is the stage for authors to celebrate and support the publishing of their books with a grand gala night among other things.
The website focus on selling tickets for the event, but due to useability issues, sales stayed behind expectations.
Research
To receive a detailed impression of the event and its mood, I did review last year’s images, videos and reviews. In doing so, I gained lots of information about the look & feel and the dimension of the event.
Ideation
I started improving the website’s useability. Therefore, I stepped back and created wireframes to concentrate on the functionality. I ensured the information was clearly laid out and broken down into easy-to-understand bits.
In the next step, I created a colour scheme, harmonising with the logo, before I changed the fonts to match them better.

I designed the website in Adobe XD, with some excursions to Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, before I brought the assets to the client’s WIX account for the final touches.

Revision
In his feedback, the client mentioned that he would like to add a little extra to the header image. But he was more than happy with the overall look, the clear but elegant style and the user-friendliness.

Solution
The solution is a user-friendly website with an elegant design that reflects the event’s personality. The clear structure and light and pleasant design make it easy for the user to navigate and find the information they are looking for.
After editing, the images look fresher and more vibrant and creating the seal for next year’s event creates further excitement.
