Branding
Brief
Develop a brand identity for Flavia Vianna Photography that reflects the photographer’s character and her approach to photography.
Challenge
Create a brand identity that is recognisable enough to work as a stand-alone but holds back when used as a watermark on the photographer’s pictures.
Research
During my research, I came across many photographers who do not use a logo. Others have logos that appear a bit rough and clunky. None of these would reflect the vivid and subtle style of Flavia Vianna Photography.

Ideation
I explored a variety of directions and matched them with the concept to find the best solution.
Revision
The client was extremely satisfied with the result and fully agreed with the favoured direction. Therefore, I just adjusted the colour to a slightly brighter hue and polished the composition.

Solution
The minimalistic version connects with the brand but does not compete with the candid and emotional photography style. The light but elegant sans serif typeface is modern & remarkable but timeless & decent at the same time. The characters engage with each other in a very harmonic way. The warm yellow box brackets not only hold the name but are also strongly linked to photography as they look like a camera frame. The colour perfectly represents the tonality of Flavia Vianna’s photography style. It stands in high contrast to the black font and, at the same time, gives the brand a warm, happy and vibrant look & feel.
